Acura Make History Numbers 20 Years

This spring 2006 is 20 anniversary in Acura make history. Entered American car market as business class car brand and created by Honda Acura became the first Japanese make that challenged luxury cars segment of US car market fully occupied by far by Cadillac and lexury European brands.

The first Acura model introduced to American car market was honored Acura Legend. Soon after one respective automotive edition was describing Acura the following way: “this is BMW but better”.

In 1990 sportive Acura NSX was issued and soon this model got in first ten of best automobiles.
In addition Honda occurred the first car manufacturer that dared to establish a separate wide dealer network for Acura, its brand, since 1945 when Ford commenced its Lincoln/Mercury promotion. That risk proved its appropriateness as by 2002 in USA only 2 million Acuras were sold.

The upcoming Acura plans provides for launching RDX prototype model displayed in January, 2006 at Detroit Motor Show. According to Acura officials statements this model will combine features of sportive sedan and practical SUV. American dealers will dispose of Acura RDX right in summer 2006.
