Fiat Pure Benefit Rate Reduced 48% in 2006.

Fiat Sp A concern pure benefit in the first quarter of 2006 reduced 48% to 151 million euros. The year before the Italian industrial concern gained 293 million euros in same period. Such figures were announced via issued financial papers. It also informed that operational benefit in January-March 2006 decreased 55.6% as well down to 323 million euros against 729 millions in 2005. The total gain in the period given marked 12.556 billion euros though with 16.7% growth compared to the 10.755 billion euros in 2005.
At the same time Fiat Auto’s, the main concern brand, operational benefit rate reached 57 million against 129 million of loss in 2005 first three months. Car manufacturing subdivision sales volume grew 23.6% up to 5.718 billion euros while in 2005 this rate figured 4.623 billion. Still, data on both – Fiat S A and Fiat Auto exceeded the expectations of analysts.
The Fiat report also provided for the causes of pure benefit rate decrease: the company tied it with the fact of receiving 715 million euros from General Motors in 2005 for abortive merging as compensation. In addition the profit in 2006 first quarter was mostly explained by considerable sales of successful Grande Punto model that surpassed 90 000 cars in the perios given.
Besides, Fiat announced the prognosticated benefit rate for the whole 2006 year. Fiat analysts expected to gain 700 millions euros for Fiat Sp A and 200 millions for Fiat Auto – the car manufacturing subdivision.
