Added on 03-08-2006
Japanese Honda announced hybrid cars developing slow down as Tokeo Fukui, Honda executive director asserted. In his report he admitted great potential of hybrid cars though serial manufacturing of hybrids he named currently not really profitable. T. Fukui added resumed that hybrids should be both – ecologically friendly and profitable financially though these two aspects can hardly be reached together at once.

Honda hybrid model line-up will be enlarged in addition to existing Insight, Accord and Civic models though the terms are not defined yet. Currently Honda is considering other alternative fuel types except hydrogen like ethanol and diesel.

Despite recent criticizing on hybrids focusing on their invalid high fuel economy alleged by car manufacturers hybrid cars experience scalable popularity, especially in USA.
