Maserati New Models on the Horizon

Italian Maserati plans to enlarge its model line-up via adding more “budget” models with $90 000 – 115 000 pricing. One of Maserati models SUV based on Maserati Cubang may come out which for the record was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. As well Maserati may construct some diesel engine powered models.

Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, Maserati executive director, stated that new models launch will be dated for the company sales volume reaching the mark of 8 000 – 9 000 a year. In fact, this point seems more closer in the light of last year Quattroporte sedan model sales only reached 5 700 cars.

After Maserati moved away from Ferrari in 2005 the company commenced close collaboration with Alfa Romeo under the aegis of Fiat Group. Still Karl-Heinz Kalbfell stressed that there is not any hint or reason for model exchange – “we will never manufacture Maserati cars with Alfa Romeo nameplate and vice versa. That’s why if you so dubious about our collaboration with Alfa Romeo – better ask out customers – they will quickly make change your mind”.

Maserati will celebrate this year its 80th anniversary while Fiat as known purchased this make in 1993.
