VW Pure Benefit Grew 4.6 times in 2006.

Volkswagen AG pure profit in the first quarter of 2006 grew 4.6 times compared to 2005 same period rate. The biggest European car manufacturer gained the ever 327 million euros – the record quarter rate since 2002. The last year pure benefit amounted just 70 millions euros as stated in recently issued Volkswagen financial papers.
The sales volume of the same period in 2006 reached the level of 25.3 billion euros with 21% increase to analogue rate in 2005 at 20.9 billion.
In fact, Volkswagen informed that successful financial figures and results were achieved due to restructuring program application launched in 2002 which provides for constructing new models as well as scalable staff discharge.
According to the program Volkswagen annual pre-taxation benefit planned to grow 3 times up to 5.1 billion euros given in 2004 the company gained only 1.1 billion euros of profit before taxation.
The sales volume of the same period in 2006 reached the level of 25.3 billion euros with 21% increase to analogue rate in 2005 at 20.9 billion.
