BMW Adapted Night Vision System for 5- and 6-serie

Innovative night vision system is now available for BMW 5- and 6-serie customers. This option first appeared half a year ago in BMW 7-serie features list.

The BMW night vision system uses infrared shining enabling objects tracking beyond the light scope of headlights.

Night vision electronics can detect object at 300 meters distance while currently most capable xenon headlights are able to illuminate only to 150 meters. BMW night vision is destined to avoid running onto the road obstacle: according to statistics information average brake distance after 100 km/h speed amounts to 180 meter but automobile equipped with night vision system will have a time reserve for managing the situation.

Night vision system will cost some additional $2 000 fee for every BMW 5- and 6-serie customer.
