1 Million of Subaru Forester

Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), world transport and aerospace equipment manufacturer which includes Subaru subdivision, announced millionth Subaru Forester car issuing. Remarkably it happened 9years and 3 months after the model producing was launched in December, 1996.

Forester model based on SUV crossover concept combines advantages of off-roaders with high safety level, comfort, performance. In fact, Forester first generation set new world record of average speed at 180.082 km/h in the course of 24-hour tests in October, 1996. FIA and ACCUS certified Forester right at once.

In 2002 Subaru introduced second generation of Forester. New Forester stood out for its improved manoeuvrability, safety system, performance features, comfort amenities and design resulted in excellent crash testing rates in US and Europe.
Forester proved Subaru’s main manufacturing idea – safe cars producing. Company’s strict adhering to this principle caused world popularity of Forester.

2005 market of the model amounted to 119 743 cars with 6.2% growth to 2004 level. 83.2 % of Forester sales relate to foreign making it the most popular Subaru model outside Japan and very important item of Subaru global development strategy.
