Euro NCAP Crash Tests for 6 New Cars

New Euro NCAP system based crash tests results of latest six car models were announced. The outcome clearly recognized new safety leader and the model which suffered close to full fail in front collision test.



New Chevrolet Aveo, one of compact family car class came out that very unlucky model as obtained 3 points of 16 possible in front collision ratio given penalized in addition for A-pillar removal into inner compartment. In side collision test Aveo got 17 points – 94% possible.



Nevertheless final score amounted just to one star. In fact, such low scores were typical for car models manufactured before 2000. Still in children and pedestrian safety tests Chevrolet Aveo gained 3 stars.

In contrast with American-Korean manufactured Aveo two European automobiles managed to gain 5 stars in driver and passenger safety tests. These are Peugeot 207 with 35 points and Alfa Romeo 159 with 34 points in front+side collision tests summarized. In addition Peugeot 207 was given 3 of 4 and 4 of 5 stars for pedestrian and children safety accordingly. Italian Alfa 159 was scored in those tests 1and 4 points.


Japanese Suzuki SX4 crossover demonstrated worthy results gained 4 stars for driver/passenger safety, 3 stars for children and 3 for pedestrian safety as well.



Kia Cerato, 2005 generation showed under average scores as ceased 3 stars in driver safety test, 3 stars in children and 1 star in pedestrian tests correspondingly.



And finally Hyudai Tucson, new Korean off-roader was scored very well as gained 4 points for driver and passenger safety after front/side collision marking the best class ratio.



Besides, Tucson ceased 3 stars of 5 for children safety and 1 star of 4 for pedestrian one. And remember that the model keeping the first rank in passenger safety test is Honda CR-V 2002 model generation.
