European Automobiles Sales Grew 3.2% in 2006

European automobiles sales volume including new EU members in the first quarter 2006 grew 3.2% up to 4 132 773 cars compared to analogue period of 2005. The figures came out from the European Car Manufacturers Association (ASEA) report marking also 4.1% sales increase in March 2006 only – up to 1 788 723.The leaders in European market occurred Volkswagen AG, PSA Peugeot Citroen and Ford in accordance.
The whole table of European automobiles sales in 2006 first quarter looks as following:
• Volkswagen (Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda) - 738 854 automobiles (+13,6%)
• PSA Peugeot Citroen - 546 263 (+0,3%)
• Ford (Ford, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar) - 441 425 (-0,8%)
• General Motors (Opel, Chevrolet, Vauxhall, Saab, Cadillac) - 411 276 (+0,3%)
• Renault (Renault, Dacia) - 347 888 (-8,9%)
• Fiat (Fiat, Alfa-Romeo, Lancia) - 318 531 (+17,8%)
• DaimlerChrysler (Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Chrysler) - 228 205 (+4,6%)
• Toyota и Lexus - 214 834 (+1,3%)
• BMW (BMW, Mini) - 202 163 (+6,9%)
• Nissan - 79 431 (-14,4%)
• Hyundai - 77 890 (+0,8%)
• Mazda - 74 463 (+11,5%)
