Ferrari 412S Sold for $5 612 000

Ferrari 412S recently was sold by auction in the US. In fact, the automobile manufactured in 1958 passed for $5 612 000.

Remarkably that the auction organizers were expecting to revenue some $7 million or even more for this legendary car. In that case the Ferrari 412S would have become the most expensive automobile ever sold in the US. But there were no customers ready to pay the expected amount.

Still the price of the Ferrari 412S places it at 4th position in the most expensive US sold cars rating which is lead by Bugatti Royale Berline 1931 model with 6.5 million dollars. The last one was sold by auction in 1986 and as to make the allowance of inflation the price would be 11.8 millions.

Ferrari 412S with 0744 chassis is known for it was driven by famous Phil Hill and Richie Ginther in 1950s. The car is equipped with 12 cylinder engine producing the ever 400 h/p.

As well, earlier the auction passed racing bolide of Juan-Manuel Fangio, the champion of 50s. His Talbot-Lago T26C was sold for $1 100 800 euros.
