Lamborghini Company belongs to Audi AG which in its turn constitutes Volkswagen AG Concern. Lamborghini manufactures super cars with speed capability up to 350 km/h.In October, 1963 at Turin Auto Show Lamborghini, known in Italy as tractors producer introduced its first Lamborghini 350 GT sports car. It was coupe body with classical structure, 3.5 V12 347 h/p engine. 350 GT was able to reach 280km/h top speed and get to 100km/h in 6.7 sec. 350 GT proved that Ferrucio Lamborghini, companys founder and owner could design and construct sports cars the same quality as Enzo Ferrari did which once had offended Lamborghini.
Two years after, in 1965 Lamborghini Miura debuted which
would become one of the best models in company history. In addition to unusual composition Miura stood out for its splendid design. 800 of Lamborghini Miura were sold within 6 years assuming high popularity than Ferrari. After that Ferrucio Lamborghini decided to construct a car for less affluent people. So in 1970 the company released Urraco P250 equipped with V8 2.5 engine central located.

Next Lamborghini model became a sensation Countach. First showed at Geneva International Motor Show in 1971 as concept car and designed by Bertone car body atelier, Countach was launched in production in 1974 only as Lamborghini Miura successor. Stunning Countach with its V12 4.0 engine had 365 h/p capacity and endowed the car with 300 km/h top speed.

The 70s were peculiar for popularity of so called family cars of Grand Touring class. Thats why Lamborghini created Espada model. Espada can be translated as matadors blade vindicated its viability as became very widely popular model. Lamborghini Espada was manufactured up to 1978. Within 10 years over 1000 Espadas were produced

Late 70s is the time when Lamborghini was caught by crisis. In order to overcome problems and gain investment the company even started to develop an off-roader model for US army. The first version of off-roader named Cheetah was constructed in 1977 and introduced to pentagon. Cheetah was holding testing in Saudi Arabia deserts and made well results but due to various reasons and circumstances Lamborghini Cheetah was not adopted by pentagon.
Still in 1978 in the result of joint activity between Lamborghini and Gian Paolo Dallara, companys former chief designer appeared Countach LP400S the best of all Countach 5000 QV (Quattrovalvole) with first time in Lamborghini history 4 valves per cylinder. The power of this car amounted to 455 h/p but imperfection of suspension limited top speed to 290 km/h.
In 80s was constructed Lamborghini Jalpa, named after Mexican fighting sort of bull. By exterior Jalpa was similar to Silhouette but possessed more powerful 3.5 V8 engine producing 255 h/p. In the end of 1987 at the decision of Chrysler who was owning Lamborghini for the moment Jalpa production was stopped.In spite of failure with Cheetah off-roader launching Lamborghini preserved the idea of manufacturing one and in 1982 LMA (Lamborghini Military Anteriore) prototype was introduced. LMA had big dimensions but its dynamic specifications were superior to most of its competitors.
The following sensation from Lamborghini came in 1989 the company constructed Diablo model; the model was built in several modifications at once, including roadster. In 1995 appeared Diablo SV modification with hard top, Diablo SVR; and in 1997 finally came up Diablo VT modification.The 25th company anniversary in 1989 was celebrated by issuing modernized Lamborghini Countach. The modification was changed technically as designers just made some improvements in Countach body. 16 years of manufacturing Lamborghini gave life to 1979 cars making this model the company best seller.
On February, 20, 1993 Ferrucio Lamborghini died.
In 1998 an agreement was signed providing that Lamborghini shares stock moved to Audi hands, which was already the part of Volkswagen AG Concern.
In Lamborghini model line-up were only Diablo SV and VT (with AWD), added by extravagant
SV Roadster model with demountable top and rear-wheels drive.
In 2001 Lamborghini constructed and showed off new model Murcielago. It was the first model in Lamborghini history designed not by Italian designer. Murcielago received its roundish lines due to Belgian Luke Donkervolk, the designer of Audi Avant and Skoda Octavia. Comparing to its predecessors Murcielago gained more spacious and comfort inner compartment. Its huge V12 6.2 engine producing 580 h/p brought Murcielago to 330 km/h speed.
Lamborghini Murcielago was followed in model line-up by Gallardo. New model indexed L140 was introduced at Geneva International Motor Show of 2003. Currently Lamborghini is developing new model Diablo II, with V12 6.0 660 h/p, body made of composite materials and scaffold-type doors.
