New car models

The UNISON joint venture has started assembly of the Iranian car Samand in Minsk. The production of two versions - standard and de luxe - is made with the Iranian parts kitting of Iran Khordo. First cars will be assembled of import parts only. Further 35- 50 percent native parts and components are planned to be used.
820 cars will have been assembled by the end of 2006. 4- 6 thousand cars will be produced in 2007. The two versions are equipped with 1.8 lit. ICE (100bhp). A standard car bundling includes A/C control, hydro steering booster, one piece-all new dashboard complete with armature.
Samand will cost 11000-12000USD.

Caparo T1 - world's fastest sprint-'n-stop car. Manufactured by British Caparo, two-seater T1 weighs less than 500 kg. T1 has a unique correlation power/weight – 500 bhp / 500 kg (and even less).

The car was developed with aerospace and high-formula racing technology. Its V8 engine runs 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds.

The ultra high-performance, hand-built car is meant for low-volume production of 35 units with deliveries started in late 2006. The Caparo T1 price is € 220.000.

At present Lotus Exige S is the fastest car in the world. The auto was shown off at the Geneve and British Motor Shows. 1.8 liter inline-4 petrol manufactured by Toyota was modified and fitted with a new compressor raising the power to 221bhp.

Taking into account a light weight of Exige S (935kg) the engine accelerates the car 0-60 mph in 4.3 sec. and provides a top speed of 238 km/h. The average fuel consumption is 9.1 lit per 100 km. The modified version has an extended air intake on the top, new front spoiler and tachometer, light-emitting diode tail lights, Yokohama tires and ProBax seats.

The interior has includes electric windows, black suede effect saloon with leather highlights, DAB Radio and CD/MP3 player. Exige S is regarded as a base for a new Sport GT 3.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) reports sales of 21,591 new vehicles, an increase of 3.8 percent over July, 2005. Mercedes-Benz S-Class shows a strong sales growth- 2,233 vehicles over 1,469 vehicles (by 52 percent!) last July. The SLK-Class roadster sales were 6.7 percent to 1,148 vehicles compared to 1,076 units over July 2005.

The Mercedes-Benz M-Class, R-Class, GL-Class and G-Class – demonstrates unbelievable figures- 62.3 percent increase over last July and a 91 percent increase over last year-to-date sales: 35,413 vehicles/18,544 units.

Through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned program, MBUSA reports sales of 4,368 vehicles in July, an increase of 11.3 percent over July 2005, with the year-to-date total to 27,260 vehicles, a one percent increase over year-to-date 2005.
All this brings MBUSA’s year-to-date sales to 136,526, a 14.3 percent increase.

The British importer of Nissan manufactured a super powerful Murano 4x4-based crossover. Dark lens of headlights and tail lights as well as 22-inch wheels give Murano an aggressive look.

A hybrid turbo-charger for 3.5 V6 raises the engine power by 100 bhp that’s enough to accelerate the crossover 0-60 mph in 7.0 seconds and provide the Nissan Murano GT-C with a top speed of 140 mph.

The engine is mated to a computer-controlled all-wheel drive transmission, which transfers its power to a set of 22-inch five-spoke two-piece lightweight alloy wheels with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres.

For the first time BMW M6 Cabrio has been shown at the British Motor Show. The Cabrio is 5 cm longer than BMW M6 Coupe. Equipment includes fully-adjustable leather M sports seats and a head-up display.

An engine, chassis and transmission (a sequential gear box- SMG) are the same as in M6 coupe. A powerful 5.0-litre V10 engine producing 507bhp runs 0-60mph in 4.8. A new version of BMW M6 priced at € 116.300 is going on sale in the near future.

By 2007 the Nissan is going to take out of production Almera C and to replace it with 2-3 new cars. Nissan had been testing a new version of Nissan Almera hatchback in Germany and Great Britain before the Paris Motor Show. A new Almera is going on sale in early 2007 and will be a rival for such cars as Ford Focus and VW Golf. Besides traditional hatchback, estate car, sedan, a compact van is expected to supplement the family line. The Japanese hatchback version Tida has been produced for two years and the American version Versa was shown off in Detroit in January, 2006. The European version absolutely differs from Tida and Versa. Almera has a new radiator grille and highlights, a sporty suspension and diesel with exhaust filter.

New 300 Colts available in September will be launched by the Mitsubishi Group. The car is equipped with a 74 bhp 1.1-litre petrol engine, a 0-60 mph time of 13.4 sec and a top speed of 103 mph. with fuel economy of 49.6 mpg. The edition is available in black with a red interior only. Colt Black is assembled with front airbags, anti-lock brakes, a CD player, electric front windows, remote central locking.
Smart Forfour Supermini going on sale on September 1st, will have the same inside as the Colt Black has. Like the Colt, the Smart Forfour Supermini will be available as a limited-edition.

Ssangyong started producing limited editions of Rexton 4x4 - Rexton S Sport and Rexton SE Sport.
The Rexton S Sport has five-seat manual 2.7-litre diesel S, a satellite-navigation system, alloy wheels, sidebars and steps.
The Rexton SE Sport is based on the SE model. The version is equipped with a Kenwood satellite-navigation system, rear parking sensors, 18-inch alloy wheels and site steps. 65 SE Sports are planned to release.
The new versions have been sold since the end of March. The date of it’s sale in Europe has not been reported yet.
