Siemens starts producing a new active cruise system. Radar of the system starts functioning while a low visibility when it fogs or rains.
Many drivers successfully use active cruise systems as it’s hard to catch sight of obstacles in the terms of low visibility. As it is mentioned above the new system Siemens VDO starts functioning when perceiving a fog, a rain or a snow behind the car windows.
According to driver’s setting Siemens active cruise control selects an optimal car speed concerning the road conditions and keeps the distance to the advanced car automatically even when it is hidden with fog. The new device is expected to be equipped at the mid and compact passenger cars.

The Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company is producing a new crossover that is a rival for coming Ford Edge and Toyota Highlander in 2008. The car known as JC49 will be assembled in Mexico with production started in late 2007. Chrysler experts describe the new Dodge as “conceptually new crossover” to emphasize distinctions of Dodge from standard crossovers. The Dodge initial price is expected at 20.000 USD, production volume- about 150.000 units per year. The new crossover is apparent to be build on Mitsubishi Lancer base.

Mazda Senku – a car for serious people. The sporty hatchback is a bit bigger than the current Mazda RX8. Mazda Senku is 22 cm longer (4,65 m), 8 cm wider(1,85 m) and 6 cm higher (1,4 м) than its predecessor. The car has a hybrid rotary engine and the longest sliding doors.


Sliding doors on solenoids earlier used in minivans and never installed in sporty concepts feature the model. The car luxurious interior trim is for front seats passengers. Rotary - reciprocating engine has been combined with electric one. The engine performance is the same except a fuel economy – it got better!

August 30 - September 10, Moscow International Motor Show 2006 is taking place in the Crocus Expo. The Motor Show has been supported by the Association of Russian Automakers (OAR) and Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d"Automobiles (OICA).
The first two days are available for Mass Media and specialists only. The exhibition centre area is over 40 thousands square meters. Besides the US and European concerns almost all Japanese companies such as Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, Infiniti, Lexus represented in Russia are supposed to take part in the show.
The InterAuto International Exhibition is going to be held within the Moscow International Motor Show framework. The exhibition area is over 30 thousands square meters. The main exhibitors of the display are the companies specialized in production and selling of auto components, auto spare parts, tuning car – audio, auto maintenance stations service.
Moscow International Motor Show 2006 and Exhibition program contains various press conferences, congresses, seminars, tests- drives, etc.
About 500.000 people are expected to visit the Show.

Nissan will have restyled a new massive off-road Nissan Armada by 2008.
Road test photos taken in the US indirectly proves the fact of the modified Armada. It is worth mentioning the taken car is not Armada 2007 and this information has been spread by Nissan over official sources of information.
A radiator grille design, headlights, etc. are observed changed. The interior of the new car is apparent to be influenced by Infiniti: more switches and tumblers are assembled on the dash-board.

Alfa Romeo has unveiled its new Alfa Spider. The debut of the car designed on Brera platform took place at Sicily. Afterwards Alfa Romeo Spider was presented at the Salon International de l'Auto (or Geneva Motor Show) where it was named Cabrio of the Year 2006 and at the British International Motor Show.
The Alfa Romeo Spider design is elaborated in Carrozzeria Pininfarina (an automobile coachbuilder and specialty vehicle maker in Turin, Italy).














The all-new Alfa Spider recalls memories of the 1960s Giulietta Spider (1955) and Spider Duetto (1966). The car will be produced at Alfa Romeo plant in Turin in two versions – with advanced direct injection petrol engines 2.2 JTS (185 bhp) reaching 0-60mph in 8.6 sec and 3.2 V6 Q4 (260 bhp) reaching 0-60mph in 7 sec.
The more powerful version of Spider is going to get the four-wheel-drive. The car is equipped with the advanced electronic devices for control of the car’s dynamic behavior, from braking to traction, the dual-zone automatic climate control system, radio controls on the steering wheel, VDC, cruise control and airbags. The four-wheel drive Alfa Romeo Spider will cost from € 45,800 with sales started in 2007.

Porsche has designed and produced the latest 911 family - Targa version.
The four-wheel-drive Targa 4 and Targa 4S with production started in November feature Carrera versions Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S (sales started this October).

The distinguishing feature is a glass roof (1.9kg lighter than of the previous models) opening in seven seconds at any speed to its maximum 500cm and sunblind, deflector and a new sealing as well.

As to hatches it is worth mentioning the Targa glass rear hatch giving an access to 230 liters of boot space.






Porsche uses the same 320 bhp petrol engine in Targa 4 and 355bhp in Targa 4S. The Targas are slower than steel-roofed Carrera 4S (0-60mph dash in 4.8sec and with 180mph on top) but the entry-level car still covers the 0-62mph dash in 5.3 sec. with 175mph on top. The more powerful Targa S can reach 179mph.

Volvo presents a new car XC90 SE Sport 4x4 – a version of XC90. For the first time the car was shown at the British Motor Show. The car sales are expected in November.
The Concern trying to meet consumers’ demands offers three modification - the 182bhp 2.4 - litre D5 diesel, the 235bhp 3.2 - litre petrol and the 311bhp 4.4 - litre V8 petrol (sprints to 62mph in 7 sec).





Fuel consumption, carbon dioxide emissions, acceleration are not changed.
To give the car a sharper drive engineers equipped the car with stiffer suspension and quicker steering. Besides Volvo XC90 has larger 19-inch alloy wheels, two - colour sports seats, extended wheel arches.

BMW continues presenting cars of the future. The new model BMW Concept Coupe Mille Miglia 2006 combines traditional for “space” cars smooth hull configuration and composite materials. The peculiarity of the car is a design combination of two absolutely different cars: Mille Miglia (the winner of BMW 328 Touring Coupe (1940)) and the current Z4 Coupe.





The cockpit of the car moves up simplifying getting into the car. The concept is made of aluminum strengthening the basic construction with carboxylic fiber.


There is the same engine as Z4 M coupe has - I6 (343bhp) but the exhaust and air inlet system is tuned in irreproachable sports sound appropriate to the car of such class.

DiMora Motorcar, the American Company, will produce Natalia SLS 2 – an extra-expensive sports sedan de luxe. Cars of the class will be priced at 2 mln USD. The cars will be equipped with Volcano V16 (1200 bhp) and assembled at the plant of Palm- Springs (California).

Millionaires of such health-resorts zone as Las-Vegas, Hawaii, Toscana and Dubai are supposed to be the owners of such super cars. One can be impressed by peculiarities of Natalia SLS 2: back seat message covers, the noctovisor control panel, a special computer system keeping a status of driver and selecting a passenger compartment temperature, display illumination and music. DiMora offers a 12.000 USD-extra-staff for woman drivers: an elegant handbag, and a bottle of exclusive wine Natalia with self-unscrew top.
The first sedans de luxe are expected in 2008.
