I am not racer bone I like comfortable and tranquil driving. So the most important for me was not displacement or power of engine. I was looking for the best combination of power, comfort, quality and price. At last I had stopped at two cars these were Daewoo Lanos and Dacia Solenza… Well I chose the last one because there were big queue for the Daewoo and, what is more Dacia offered greater Christmas discounts. So this was the end of 2003 and now I have been using my baby for two years and total mileage currently amounts 43 000 and there were no serious problems with it not for a while yet. Its standard package includes air conditioner, climate control, airbags, PAS... the inner gadgets are power windows, immobilizer, anti fog headlights, steel protection of the engine’s bottom, audio system with four speakers, rear windscreen heater… that is all I guess.

The engine Renault E7J (the same Renault Clio, Cano) is fuel efficient 1.4 liters with 75hp gives this baby not bad dynamics characteristics (114nm@2800rpm). Anyway I compare it with my previous Toyota Corolla 1.4 toomodel of 2001. The manual gearbox is the same as Renault Laguna provides smooth level of shifting including switching from first to second. The reverse is lightly hard…the engine is not noisy and the most power it outputs is at low speed.

The passenger compartment itself is not luxury but everything is made with thoughts about comfort for driver. You can find everything there were you expected to find. Unassuming inner fabric but it is not looks cheap. Everything is made of good quality. There no any rattles. Spacious legroom even for rear passengers, the previous Toyota had less though it was longer than Dacia. The seats are quite comfortable. Dacia’s frontal visibility is superb, rear and side is limited because wide B and C pillars. Headlights and wipers work with satisfactory results.

The thing I like in this car is its fuel rate about 35 miles per gallon for urban driving! Good dirigibility – the tires Matador MP 12, 165/70/ R 13 standard. The brakes are very strong. And the last it has roomy trunk. Total summary is next:

Advantages of this car: it is quality and low price as for buying as well for maintenance.

Disadvantages are: low clearance (135mm), slightly narrow passenger compartment and consistent noise form wind at speed after 55mph.

In general this car is convenient for me and I don’t want to change it in the nearest future.

I was reading your car story and learnt that the best car - is the car one owns and drives and doesn't matter which make or model is it..

I know Dacias, the copies of renault, right. But you're the first owner who praises it, I heard they are not reliable really. But you do like I see, detailed car story.

Detailed car story and I think You shouldn't change your car if you like it, nothing is to change a car, so many bothers about it appear.
