My nephew George is 25, 1 year older than I am, and it's always fun when he calls me "Dear uncle" :D
I have a cool car and so does George, we spend much time discussing car issues and repairing and upgrading our autos. My Bentley is prestigeous, but old, as for his car it's modern and stylish - it's an Opel Vectra built in 2003 and upgraded and renewed later in 2005.
The basic Opel Vectra job is a beautiful sedan with a low body drag coefficient and a comfortable 4-door saloon upholstered with smooth leather. Its boot size is just average, and there's just enough room for the rear seat passengers to feel comfortable. Its dash-board is designed in a very convenient way, plus the front seats are very adjustable, so the driver can drive for hours experiencing minimum discomfort. George's Opel has a front drivetrain and a 5-speed manual gearbox, plus a great steering system of new generation. Its engine is also good, a customly turbocharged 3.2-liter V6 with 24 valves making about 250 horsepower. Though it is no longer noiseless after it was turbocharged, George enjoys hearing the deep humming it produces.
He added several other special safety features to the basic configuration, like ABS, Automatic Traction Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, additional airbags, efficient climate control system, anti-theft system etc. He really loves his car and cares that it stays up-to-date and in fair condition.
Vectra's average fuel consumption is approximately 7.8 l/100 km and George always feeds it with premium fuel in order for the engine to work properly and on full power.
Sometimes we both - me and George - go little street-racing, because we both enjoy immensely the smell of smoking tires and high speeds. The last time streetrace competitions took place on a night highway in Luzern suburbs George's Opel was competing with a BMW monster (built 2005) and won 5 meters of distance!
George really adores his car and he's planning further upgrades of its performance and safety features.

View all commentsBy rmcexmgx on 01-09-2006:Man, I respect your opinion and attitude to your friend but I doubt any Opel is able to outstrip any 2005 BMW model but everything's possible. I assume that the BMW driver is not experienced.
