One of the first autos available for people in such class were: Toyota Prius 1997 Japan and 2000 USA that looks like Corolla and Honda Insight (VV) early 1999 that similar Honda Civic. Toyota’s cars were equipped with general electric mover and little petrol as a subsidiary. Honda’s vehicle inside out has main traction gasoline 67 horse power, and as additional electric engine. The main advantage of hybrid cars from their electrical brothers is that they don’t need recharging its batteries because they do it while auto is slowing down. Moreover when you are staying behind the light signal or in traffic jam car isn’t wasting fuel.

In 2004 I saw the first hybrid with sport utility vehicle (SUV) released, Ford Motor Company's Ford Escape Hybrid. Toyota announced model year 2005 hybrid versions of the Toyota Highlander and Lexus RX 400h, and has plans to add hybrid drive trains to every model it sells in the coming decade. Honda has also announced the release of a hybrid version of the Accord. Also, Nissan announced the release of the Altima hybrid (technology supplied by Toyota) around 2006.

Another way for using instead of gasoline are hydrogen major car companies like DaimlerChrysler and General Motors Corp. They are working in that way, see for BMW HR2 that hold a record in hydrogen car class it had top speed over 300 km/h, Quark TM4 from Peugeot etc. So it isn’t far time when we will full our cars’ tanks with ordinary water, hey I just kidding ;)
