I like the speed! I like smell of wind blowing in my open window. In addition I want to be sure of auto I own. Since a Touareg appeared at the car market I was thinking about buying it. But for various reasons I couldn’t do it until the end of this year. So I bought it two days ago and now just full of impressions. I was choosing between Mitsubishi Pajero, Lexus RX300 and Volkswagen Touareg. The main reason because I decided to take VW was the combination of comfort and economy, in addition this is the best luxury SUV of 2004 according to "Car and Driver" magazine opinion.

The standard package includes ABS, Traction Control, climate control, PAS, seat’s heating, dual airbags, the passenger compartment decorated with leather and wood, power windows, wing mirror electrical control, ESP and dual xenon headlights.

I have modification equipped with turbocharged diesel engine with 2.5 displacement, it outputts 174hp. The automatic gearbox has manual mode. The quality of inner design and stuff is just super. Suspension is resilient and noiseless. The perfect airflow even on the maximal speed approximately 110 (!) mph there no wind’s noise. The visibility is not bad but I had to get used to its slightly wide A-pillars. The maximum speed I was able to winkle out was 110 mph as I mentioned before. However the comfortable speed for a good highway is about 95mph - anyway not bad for good SUV. Average fuel consumption is amount 23mpg highway and 19mpg urban driving. Touareg has independent suspension for all wheels that allows you turn sharply and at higher speed without skidding. I am using all season tires 235/65/R17 Continental although for winter time it is better to purchase additionally winter tires. Another special feature is that this engine consumes about one liter of oil per 600 miles. Before I used Toyota Corolla and comparing with it Touareg needs oil in doubled size. The mechanic set me ease saying that it is normal level. Now I don’t look at other cars, Touareg totally satisfies me!

Hi Mac! Touareg seems to be relaible auto. Although as all cars that made by the VW ;) I am real fan of this brand.
