My 2nd Beauty: Ford Expedition 2002

Added 1651 storyMy second most precious car is gorgeous Ford Expedition. It's a genuinely American car, a huge 4-door wagon taking a lot of space in my garage. When buying it in 2002 I tried to take as many optional add-ons as possible, not satysfied with a standard equipment package. I've chosen the most powerful engine configuration available - a 5.4-liter V8 making up to 260 horsepower, outstandingly torquy and absolutely quiet. They offered an automatic 4-speed transmission, but I ordered a cutsom 5-speed manual one I considered more pertinent for my needs. Its average fuel economy used to be 15 mpg; now it's slightly higher. I've also chosen a 4X4 Highmodel with disc anti-lock brakes for each wheel for safety reasons, because I usually drive my Ford across steep and sometimes slippey mountan roads. Anti-fog frontlights, effective air-conditioning, soft leather upholstery and heated seats, plus height-adjustable belts as well as independent suspension were a part of Expedition's standard set. To my mind the more upgrades you make for your car the better performance and dynamics you achieve. Repairing this vehicle is quite costly, but it's reliable enough not to bother you more often than once per 4 months. Enormous cargo and passenger capacity, regal comfort and prestige are also among Expedition's greatest qualities.
If you need a big powerful mountain wagon, Ford Expedition is certainly the best possible choice.

By rmcexmgx on 12-21-2005:View all commentsI looked through several other reviews of Expedition, and it's considered just a middle-class wagon, nothing really special. Perhaps you really boosted it with all these add-ons.

Once i owned Ford and to tell the truth I disappointed with it, it posed so many repair problems. Good luck on the road in a New Year 2006!
