I purchased my used BMW M5 E39 in 2002. I bought my car in Germany. When I came in auto shop I saw BMW, I liked it at the first sight. Interior: leather upholstery, manual gearbox, aluminum inserts. Well, I liked it and decided to buy. After all payment procedures a sales manager gave me the key. I went to the service center right away and swapped all liquids and other things. Then a decided to test my ride and drove to the highway, I could develop 160 km/h! Well, not so fast, but there were so many cars that I couldn’t accelerate in full. Then I decided to buy new disks and tires, and old tired swapped with winter tires. I bought OZ R18 wheels, my car became look effective. I tried to drive to the highway again and test my car, but at deep night. I drove at speed 240 km/h. I liked it much! Then I decided to start with a trashing. I drove to the road, turned on first-gear and pushed on the accelerator pedal. My car started to move having squealed wildly with wheels, a smoke covered everything around my car… I was so excited! Later I equipped my car with a cool audio system: 10 speakers in the inner compartment, 2 speakers in the luggage compartment, double sub, an amplifier and 12 CD-changer. Also I equipped my car with more powerful brakes system.
Later I got some problems: ABS sensors had to be swapped multiple times per winter. Then I just disabled ABS after all. After winter electronics started working unstably: sometimes the car didn’t start, sometimes I couldn’t unlock the door. Faultiness was removed. Later I had a lot of problems with my car anyway. I had to call the car rescue service all the time.
I didn’t like this BMW model because I had to invest constantly much money to chassis. I don’t know if it’s only me who had such problematical car or it’s just depends on the driving style. Anyway I decided to buy Mercedes-Benz next year.

Of course, If I'm offered to buy cheap BMW M5 - I'd likely agree as it is the dream of any man - only BMW can enable one to make his best on road! Man, I recommend you to sell this BMW M5 and buy another one, new generation of it. It's first car story complaining of BMW I'm facing..
By rmcexmgx on 03-11-2006:I've never droven this BMW M5 monster but my son wants to have this car, and I fear to buy this for him. Before taking such a car one should think twice. By the way, the car story of yours is instructive for those who is keen on speed driving...

O do like BMW and when i started with your car story I thought you are one more who is crazy about BMW M5 but you seem to be the first whom I met unpleased with this outstanding and mighty thing..I think it was a bad car or defected somehow, I heard M-versions of BMW are rather reliable and durable, powerful and extra fast - 1000%

BMW M5 is a primitive sports car though I'd like to have it. It can reach 270-280 km/h if you remove speed limit. If it is my car - I'd make it at once otherwise there is no sense to obtain this monster...
