I got my car in 2003. I'm from Netherlands and Golf was very popular here, I mean Golf V generation.

I took it for compactness, high fuel economy, traditional VW reliability and durability, and after I tested Golf V at dealers I found it very dynamic and nimble that's rather important for me as I live and drive mainly in ity cycle.

My car has 1.9 TDI L4 diesel engine, with not so really many 105 h/p but torque is high - 250 lb/ft at 1900!

Well, I can't say my car bears some special features as I didn't ordered options like leather inner or air-condotioner but using Golf for 3 years almost I'm simply pleased with - it's undemanding lifestyle and 100% reliability! I heard that Golf is one of the most popular car model in the world so as i real owner of this car I can understand why it is and absolutely vote for it!

But some unpleasant tendency follows me for a year already...The matter is that I got in crashes 3 times in 2005. And it was not me who ran into a tree or another car but other drivers were damafing my car two times at street cross and once at parking station. Of course, they and insurance company were covering my repairs but I do hate when my is suffering such awful things! It gets hurt..

On the whole I'm quite pleased with my car. Well, I do recommend you Golf V - good reliable car for years. And I have to finish my car story here...
