Opel, 2004, Corsa Hatch 4doors 1.2L 16V Rythm

I was looking for new car with price level below 15K$ and it didn’t take much time. I have choice between KIA Rio, Chevy Aveo, Hyundai Accent, Getz and Citroen C3. I took it in 2005 with discounts and good package in addition. It is remote control for audio system at steering wheel, 1.2L engine outputs 80hp plus Easy Tronic automatic gearbox.

Now it is almost one year I drive my car and only positive impressions. Brakes are reliable, driveability is super, comfortable seats and steering with adjustments. The suspension is soft it doesn’t like sharp turns at high speed more than 60mph. In addition Corsa economical as it used only 7 – 8 liters per 60miles in city with constantly traffic jams. But disadvantage is that gearbox works with jerking and slow. Fortunately there is kick-down manual mode of operation and it helps. However it is not comfortable and after one month of switching I shrugged off it and became used to the slow automatic gear of my new car. Now everything is OK.

The thing I recently tested was winter mode of transmission. And it was super. Car lively drove via snowdrifts.

As summary of my car story I can say that Corsa is very good car for novice drivers as I was a year ago. Plus the best offer for its money includes inner upholstery, noise proofing, comfortable suspension and automatic gearbox. For that time it was first in its class.

P.S. I was thinking about manual and automatic gear box and my advice to future car owners is if you are not racer ANY automatic for you will be better than manual. It just like the power windows is better than ordinary. Don’t be dubious.
