This car of my father but mostly it is driven by me. When we decided to buy a car with features like: reliability and economic. So there were several candidates for buying – Hundai Getz, Nissan Micra and Mitsubishi Carisma… The number one was Getz and I likely bought it if I was with my father when he did it. But unfortunately I was away and my father chose Symbol because it has more spacious trunk and it was cheapper for one thousand euros in addition. Anyway when I had come home I found Renault standing in garage.

Now it run about 7,000 miles and I shifted my opinion about French autos. Really it is pretty nice car. Standard package includes air conditioner, airbag for driver, only front power windows, velour upholstery, PAS, climate control, fog headlights CD+FM radio player with RDS + remote control installed into steering… not bad for only 10,800 euros.

My Symbol has 1.4 displacement of engine that outputs 75hp, mechanic gearbox, front wheels drive and body type sedan.

Inner comfort and ergonomics are very good for such class, not bad quality of fabrics upholstery, adjustable seats and steering column. The only thing that makes me irritated is headlight’s wipers – they works only when wind screen wipers are turned on and only with city beam mode. It is very uncomfortable especially in view of its low effectiveness. The dashboard is easy reading with friendly control and monitoring devices. Also in list of disadvantages – it has small legroom for rear passengers. Not bad visibility however the rear seats’ head-rests limit vision in rear view mirror. I had to use it.

The fuel efficient is about 25mpg for urban driving. The most powerful engine gives at 3000 rpm. For summer I use Good Year 165/70 R13 tires and for winter Gislaved Nord Frost 3 165/70 R13, in aggregated with superb brake system, high road clearance, engine defense and well designed suspension it gives good dirigibility.

The maintenance judging by prices is not cheap but it has three year guaranty and there no failures yet. So if it will be so the same in future I think Symbol will become my friend. However anyway next car I want to try is Getz.
