I own a very legendary and wonderful car – this is BMW Z1. You know that Z1 model first appeared in1988 and that was an event in car world. It was the ever best cabrio-coupe that time and I was happy having bought Z1. One should have to seize the moment because the model was dropped from the line in 1991. I remember the new saying about the most unordinary model of 80s. In fact Z1 body is adjusted around steel skeleton and the floor is made of plastic materials. But the most outstanding feature is – sliding doors with just a push-a-button control! The convertible roof plays the role of spoiler. For now my Z1 is 15 years old but I don’t think I’m ready to change my car for another even BMW model! And as for engine everything is quite wonderful here. It is 2.5 6-cylinder in-line gasoline with 170 horse powers capacity and I’m pleased and satisfied with it fully. The top speed is 225 km/h and 100km/h acceleration time is 7.9 sec – not a sportscar figures but still absolutely enough to understand this is a BMW!
One may say that BMW Z1 is rather slow. As far as I know the overall number of Z1 produced is 8000 approximately and they were framed manually so Z1 is a bit exclusive model. And for its alleged slowness I can respond by the fact that almost all the tuning Companies had Z1 in development and were improving the model for those who needed more high-powered vehicles.
Resuming I can make you sure that BMW Z1 is not a traditional BMW model with sportive temper but this is something special in BMW model line. That’s why I preferred once just this car and no other!
